  • Jake and Falawn got married!

  • The one and only Jessica Del Vecchio of Washington DC has blog tagged me. That means I need to list 8 interesting things about myself so hear it goes!

    1. I went skydiving twice and thought it was boring; When I got out on the wheel of the small plane, and I was hanging onto the wing support, the jump master told me to 'Let Go! My body refused. Why let go of a perfectly good airplane? The stupidity of that command was against every natural impulse in every cell in my body. When I let go I screamed all the forbidden words and tumbled like a rag doll. Then the shoot opened and it was like sitting on a swing set. Why risk my life when I can just find a swing set?

    2. I have three kids, 2nd grade, 5th grade and 8th grade. They all started school this week and they are super happy with their teachers and classes. I am amazed.

    3. I am from Houston, Texas. I am the only person on the planet who misses humidity.

    4. I like Boston Baked Beans, the candy.

    5. When I first saw my husband, I asked my friend, "Who is that guy who looks like Art Garfunkel? Without missing a beat, she said, "Oh, that is Stuart Grigg." I have an Art Garfunkel fetish.

6.When people get my name wrong they generally guess that my name is 'Stephanie.' I don't know why except both names have the 'f' sound in the middle.

    7. I can swim underwater longer than anyone I know. I am certfied in SCUBA, but I would rather snorkel. In shallow bays there is just as much to see and not so much prep and expense.

    8. I love Dr. Pepper! If Dr. Pepper were illegal like cocaine, I would be in jail

    OK let's tag someone!

  • Scarlett in Florida

If anyone in Utah wants to try a photo shoot with their wedding dress AFTER the wedding, I would love to try.
Scarlett is a very successful photographer in Florida with a flare for the exotic. She has been featured on websites and in her local newspaper. Trashing the dress is a slangish term for getting to wear your wedding dress again and not worrying about getting its pure whiteness slightly dirt or even wet. Most dressed are dry cleaned and stored archivally after the portrai session. Some photographers are extreme and the dress does get ruined. It is up to the bride. The more creative the better. I would love to shoot 2 or three post wedding portraits for free if anyone (ANYONE) is interested. Fields of wheat, chairs on railroad tracks, umbrellas in the salt flats, and yes ponds with lillypads; you dream it I will shoot it!

The Springville Folkfest has been a tradition here for almost 20 years. I have been privileged to photograph at least 75% of them as a volunteer. My friends and family love the music and dancers and expect it every year. This year it was cancelled because too many dance groups could not get visas. Because of the increased security, they aren't allowed into our country. I hope this tightened security solves itself and the Folkfest comes back some day.
